Walter Herschel Bellamy, 67, of Brookhaven, Pennsylvania, passed away on November 26,

2025.

Walter was born in Philadelphia, PA, on April 7, 1958. He was born to the late Deacon Charles

Genesee and Deaconess Priscilla Bellamy. He was the 6th of eight children.

Walter graduated from Olney High School in 1976, where he received 2nd and 3rd Team All

Public 1974 and 1975 for Football. His senior year he was selected to play in the All Star Public

League of Philadelphia.

He went on to attend college at The Virginia Military Institute (VMI) where he received a full Athletic Scholarship for Football. In his time there, he built a legacy.Excelling in his military training, his participation as a member of the fellowship of Christian Athletes, Track and most of all, Football. Some of his accomplishments include his qualification for the 1980 Olympics for Track, and leading the VMI Keydets to the 1977 Southern Conference Championship.

In 1980, he was drafted into the NFL by the Atlanta Falcons and later signed as a free agent with the Oakland Raiders and the Michigan Panthers of the USFL. He went on to both play and coach in the Philadelphia Tough Touch Football League (PTTFL) for over 25 years.

In 1982, he met the love of his Life, his wife, Susan Ann Bellamy. Walt and Sue were married for over 39 years, raising two truly spectacular daughters. He was a proud Father and Grandfather (Poppop) to his 5 grandchildren, and they were the light of his life. He greatly enjoyed Sunday dinners with his family and dog, Nyla. Walt was a proud member of Maranatha Ministries, where he continued to develop his faith and relationship with God. He participated in community outreach and many service days.

Walter exemplified Integrity, Discipline, Excellence and Tenacity. He had this gift that allowed him to uplift and encourage every person he came across. He made you believe in yourself. Walt touched countless lives and was a mentor, confidant, and beloved friend to so many. He believed in the joy and richness of family and dedicated his life in service of others. He was known for his infectious smile and kind open heart. To know him was to love him.

Walter was predeceased by his parents, Deacon Charles Genesee Bellamy and Deaconess Priscilla Bellamy, His in-laws Edward and Joan Nace, his brothers John Gause, Charles Gause and Rev. Dr. Edward Bellamy, and his Son-in-Law Jamal M. Samah.

He is survived by: His loving wife, Susan Nace; his daughters Kimberly Nicole Samah and Kristin Renee Bellamy (Josh), and 5 grandchildren Sadie, Mae, Corinne, James, and Farrah. His sister Deborah Hopper (Jake), His brothers, Michael Bellamy (Nancy), Victor Bellamy (Marla), and Curtis Bellamy (Constance). He is survived by his sisters-in-laws, Ann Gause, Rev.Carlease Bellamy. Brother-in-law's Steve Nace (Kim) and Jim Nace (April) and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Viewing on Friday, December 5, 2025 from 9am to 10am at New Covenant Church, 7500 Germantown Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19119.

Service will be held at 10am at New Covenant Church. Repass Immediately Following.

Interment Private.
