Jim Stuchel

James John Stuchel was born in Ormsby PA on March 28, 1937 to Merel and Ruth. James lived in many locations due to his stepfather having a career in the Navy. Eventually his family settled in National Park, NJ.

James graduated from Woodbury High School in June 1956, where he played for the High School football team. After graduation he joined the U.S. Merchant Marines. He worked on ships for Mobil Oil, and Sun Oil Co. After 9 years in the U.S. Merchant Marines he was employed by the Dupont Co. in NJ for 2 years.

He joined the New Jersey State Police in 1968. He spent 27 years on the job and worked at many stations in South Jersey and retired from the Bellmawr location with the rank of Lieutenant as a Station Commander.

James was married for 65 years to Miriam Gay Stuchel. They resided in West Deptford and in the winter they stayed in Hallendale Florida. James and Miriam loved boating and cruising the world.

James was a dedicated Eagles fan. In the past he enjoyed riding his jet-ski, water skiing, scuba diving and photography as well. When at home he enjoyed soft rock music, working on cars, his wife's great cooking, their beloved dogs and his beautiful lawn.

James leaves behind his wife Miriam, his son Charles Stuchel (Diane), his daughter Miriam "Mimi" Standish (James). His daughter Paula Brickner (Mathew), and his three grand daughters, Garbriella, Erica, and Alexandra.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing, Friday November 28th, 2025 9am to 11am in The Chapel at BOUCHER FUNERAL HOME, 1757 Delsea Dr., Deptford, NJ 08096.

Funeral Service 11am in The Chapel at the Funeral Home.

Interment immediately following at New St. Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr.
