Richard T. Lightcap, 83, of Gibbstown, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 22, 2025.
Legacy
Born and raised in National Park, NJ, he graduated from Woodbury High School Class of 1961, then married Nancy Burgess in 1963 together they had two daughters Nancy (late Tony) Marra and Linda (Eddie) Hauer; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
He worked at Owens Corning for 25 years and also drove the oil truck and was part-owner of J & J Family Fuel in National Park. He became a part time Painter until he retired. In 1995 he married Trish Gallen, together they bought a house in Gibbstown. He played softball for 30 years for various teams. Later in his life he helped cheer on and coach 3rd base for a variety of teams his grandson Adrian played for. A "HUGE" Atlanta Braves fan. He loved to take trips to Atlanta with Trish and his grandsons to see the Braves games. He loved to sing Karaoke and dance with all of his friends. He was always the life of the party.
Rich always thought he was very lucky for having been married to two great women.
Farewell Tribute
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Thursday, October 30th from 9:00am to 12:00PM in the McGuinness Funeral Home (Woodbury Location) 34 Hunter Street Woodbury, NJ 08096. Funeral Service at 12:00PM. Interment to follow at Eglington Cemetery Clarksboro, New Jersey.
