Walter Bond, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2026, at the age of 81 at his residence surrounded by his loving wife. He was born on February 17, 1945, in Brownsville, Tennessee, to the late Roscoe Bond Jr. and Unia Mae Springfield-Bond.

Walter was a proud graduate of Carver High School in Brownsville, Tennessee. He dedicated 42 years of faithful service to Wagners Casting, where he was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to providing for his family.

A man of many passions, Walter had a deep love for motorcycles and served as Vice President of the Night Owls Motorcycle Club. He also enjoyed fast cars, traveling, and spending quality time with his loved ones. Walter had a creative spirit and a fascination with electronics-he could often be found making movies, recording music, and capturing special moments.

He confessed his love Christ at a young age, and was baptized at Salem Baptist Church in Brownsville, TN. When relocating to Decatur, Walter was a became a devoted member of Main Street Church, where he faithfully served on the treasury board.

He shared a beautiful and enduring love with his wife, Irma Bond. Married for 54 years and together for 60 years, their bond was a true testament to love, commitment, and partnership.

Walter leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Irma Bond; his six children, Charles Mitchell, Eric Green, Jacquline Bond, Janice Bond, Walter L. Bond, all of Decatur, and Walter Blair of Brownsville, Tennessee; his siblings, Juanette Bond Anderson and Willette Bond Edwards of Southfield, Michigan, and Eldrige Gray; 18 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

He also leaves behind a special cousin, Brown Springfield; special friends, Levoy Reed and U. L. Sain; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings: Cleo Bond Walker, Roger Bond, Mary L. Bond Walker, Virginia Bond, Willie B. Bond, Roy Lee Bond, Inell Bond Chambers, and six additional siblings.
