Kenneth Lovell Hess

Kenneth Lovell Hess, 57, of Decatur, Illinois, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025, at his home, surrounded by the love of his family.
Kenneth was born on July 26, 1968, in Decatur, Illinois, to Eugene and Alice Hess. He was a lifelong resident of the Decatur community and was known for his loyalty to family, his strong bonds with friends, and the love he poured into every generation of his family.
Kenneth leaves to cherish his memory his beloved children, Tyrese Bland and Tykia Hess, both of Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was a proud grandfather to Kaliyah Bland, Tyshawn Bland, Kimaria Brown, and Kannan Blasingame, and a devoted great-grandfather to Kimora Hess, Khloe Hess, and Adonis Hess.
He is also survived by his siblings, Terrell Hess and La Ronda Hess, both of Decatur, Illinois.
Kenneth's legacy lives on through his many nieces and nephews: Alexis Hess, Aria Hess, Kammie Hess, Kalven Hines, Terrell (Geno) Hess II, and Keshawn Hess. He also leaves behind his special aunt, Mae Hess, special cousins, Saville, Antwon, Marco, and Andrian McKnight, along with a host of special cousins. In addition to his family, Kenneth cherished lifelong friendships with Kyie Hess, Marcus Perkins, and Trent Chapple, whose bonds endured through every season of life.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Kevin Allen.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2025, beginning at 11:00 AM, with funeral services to follow at 12:00 PM.
Kenneth Lovell Hess will be remembered for his love of family, his generous spirit, and the lasting impact he made on all who were blessed to know him.
