Marjorie J. Hess Elliott

June 23, 1942- February 7, 2026

Marjorie Hess Elliott, 83, of Scarborough, gently passed away on February 7, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. Marge was born in Auburn to Lawrence and Hilda (Benner) Johnson. She was a graduate of Edward Little High School and was first in her family to graduate from college, graduating from University of Southern Maine in 1984. She received her MBA in Accounting from the University of New Hampshire.

Marge was intelligent and driven. She worked hard and founded Arcadia Healthcare, a successful multi state in-home healthcare business. Marge never forgot her humble beginnings and helped less fortunate individuals gain skills and hired them to work for her company.

Marge had a passion for dancing and would often spend entire evenings on the dance floor. She loved snowmobiling with her husband, Mark, up to their camp in Shirley Mills and trips to Canada. Marge enjoyed boating on their many fishing boats, including trips up the coast, with a margarita or Corona in hand. She enjoyed traveling and traveled to many places including Bora Bora, Tahiti, Bon Aire and Honduras.

Marge was predeceased by her twin sister, Margaret Tripp, sisters Barbara Johnson and Elaine Cane and brothers Lawrence and James Johnson.

Marge is survived by her husband and loving partner of 38 years, Mark Elliott, and her brother, Danny (Bonita) Johnson. She had unwavering love for her two sons, Jeff (Quynh) Hess and George (Edeliza) Hess, III, and stepsons, Justin and Travis (Christi) Elliott. Marge loved being a grandmother and doted on her six grandchildren. Marge is also survived by extended family and many special friends including Christy and Jim. She is also survived by her Bernese mountain dog, Sammy, whom she loved sneaking treats to.

The family would like to thank Danielle for her patience and loving care over the past five months. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
