Walter, age 77, went to be with the LORD JESUS on Friday, October 17, 2025. He was a resident of Tickfaw, LA and a member of Calvary Pentecostal Church. Walter was a welding supervisor at Trinity Shipyard for many years, as well as working for Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Department as a reserve police officer for 27 years. Walter also worked as a merchant marine. A true family man, Walter lived his life with unwavering love and dedication to those he held dear. He worked tirelessly throughout his life to provide for his family, never shying away from hard work and always putting others before himself. Whether on the job or at home, his hands were rarely still; he found joy in being outside, riding his lawn mower. To his grandchildren, Walter was lovingly known as “Paw”, a name spoken with warmth and admiration. He was their best friend, their storyteller, and someone they could always count on. Walter’s legacy is one of strength, selflessness, and deep love. He leaves behind a family who adored him, learned from his example, and will carry his memory forward with pride. Walter will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
He is survived by his loving wife of 6 years, Betty Jean Crockett; sons, Walter E. Crockett (Elizabeth), Keith Crockett (Sharon), David Crockett, LJ Rodriguez (Jamie); daughter, Melissa Cornwell (Brian); sister, Debra C. Pace; grandchildren, Lex Crockett Sr., Alan Crockett (Marie), Christina Crockett, Ashley Andry (Corey), Summer Moore, Austin Moore, Jayden Bozeman, Sophie Rodriguez, John Rodriguez; great grandchildren, Lex Crockett Jr., Marcia Lee Crockett, Enoch Judah Crockett, Rylee Andry, Avery Andry, Morgan Powell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
