Walter was born in Nashville, TN on August 16, 1956 to the late Walter and Ella Swanson. He departed this earthy dwelling place and entered eternal rest in the kingdom of heaven on April 28, 2024.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Ella Swanson, Sisters; Donna Swanson and Theresa Phillips, Brother James Swanson and Grandson Kash Jones and Great Nephew Daylen Swanson.
Walter accepted Christ and Heaven rejoiced.
Walter attended Metropolitan Nashville Public School.
Walter leaves to cherish his memory, Daughter Chereta Jones; Sisters Marva Hemphill and Deborah Swanson; Nieces Torria (Jessie) Woodard, Robin (Semeka) Swanson, LaKesha and Theresa Swanson; Great Nieces Alexis Harris, Breonna Wilson, D’icis, Dymond Hill and Ella Beck, LaTiyah Woodard. Nephews Kenyatta (Carissa) Swanson, Troyce (Chasity) Beck, Brandell Swanson. Great Nephews Jaderek McGuire, DeShawn and DeAnthony Swanson, Donovan Hill, Makhi, Mason, Mikell Johnson, and Nathaniel Wilson. Aunts Delores Williams, Peggy Gilliam and Mary Swanson. Along with a host of Family and Friends.
