Walter Curry Obituary

1940 - 2025 Walter E. "Butch" Curry, 85, of Finleyville, passed away peacefully Friday, July 11, 2025. A Marine veteran and lifelong farmer, Butch was known for his integrity, quiet strength, and dedication to hard work. Born and raised on the family farm, he was the youngest of eight children of the late James Curry and Mary Lawson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy; and all of his siblings. After graduating from Clairton High School, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a drywall installer, but his passion was the farm. He loved raising animals and tending to his large gardens. He is survived by his son, David (Mandy) Curry and grandson, Spencer of Virginia; his stepdaughter, Jody (Lloyd) Fleming of California; along with many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, when a funeral service will be held, Saturday, July 19, in the Stephen D. Slater Funeral Home, 1701 Route 51, Jefferson Hills. Private burial next to his wife will be at the Jefferson Memorial Park Cemetery.
