Walter Glen Daves, age 72, of Talking Rock went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 24 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital. Glen was born on September 17, 1953 to the late Dallas Cline Daves and Mary Clay Jones Daves. He worked for many years as contractor and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved the Lord and was of the Baptist Faith.

In addition to his parents, Glen is preceded in death by his sisters, Carolyn (Harold) Miles and Josephine Cook.

Those left to cherish his memory include; his loving wife, Wanda Daves of Talking Rock; daughter Rebecca S. Daves of Talking Rock; sons, Richard H. (Mandy) Daves of Blue Ridge and Anthony G. (Krystie) Daves of Ellijay; brothers, Rathel (Rhonda) Daves of Dalton and Charlie (Karen) Daves of Eton; sisters, Sherry Cochran of Dalton, Sandra (Roger) Hewitt of Dalton, Sarah (Brian) Burke of Adairsville, and Clara Bartley of Chatsworth; grandchildren, Ryan Daves, Brittney Poff, Beverly Davis, Brett Warfield, Peyton Daves, Kaitlyn Daves, Alexandra Daves, Audrey Daves; great grandchildren, Baylee Davis, Rowen Poff, Eloise Poff, Jacob Daves, Jessie Daves and Braxton Warfield.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Glen's life will be held on Saturday, September 27 at 2:00 pm in the chapel at Bernhardt Funeral Home in Ellijay with Rev. Jamie Kerr officiating. Burial will follow at Flat Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, September 26, at the funeral home
