Walter served as a Captain and dentist in the U.S. Army from 1970 to 1972 and was stationed at Fort Lee, Virginia.
Walter owned and operated a private dental practice in Beachwood, Ohio for more than 40 years, caring for generations of patients with dedication, pride and a steady hand.
Anyone who knew Walter, affectionately nicknamed "Docco", knew of his long standing passion for the Pittsburgh Steelers, as well as his love of golf, tennis, paddle tennis, movies, and Motown. Walter was a devoted father and a loyal friend to many, including his fellow Phi Gamma Delta brothers (FIJIs) and best friend since birth, Doug Stevens - and will be remembered for his kindness and enthusiasm for life. In retirement, he enjoyed splitting time between Vero Beach, Florida, and Cleveland, Ohio, after spending many memorable years living on "Caleb's Farm" in Gates Mills, Ohio.
Walter will be remembered for his warmth, infectious smile, and engaging spirit. An avid storyteller, he had a gift for bringing people together and making every moment memorable. He was someone who always showed up for his friends and lived with a "live while you can" attitude, rarely saying no to the things that brought joy and excitement to those around him. Loved by many, he deeply cherished his people and adored his pets. His friendship, laughter, and love will be truly missed.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the
