Walter Golembiowski Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jul. 12, 2024.
Golembiowski, Walter T. Jr., 81, longtime Bethpage resident passed away July 11, 2024. Beloved husband of 56 years to Elke. Loving father of Gina Bello (Steven), David (Jessica), and Gregory (Renee). Adored Papa of Olivia, Steven, Mia, Daniel, Sofia, and Ella. Devoted "Dog Dad" of Emme. Cherished brother of Richard, Genia Sica, and Diane Tereshko. Proud United States Army Vietnam Veteran. Walter had a rough exterior with his sassy attitude but on the inside, his heart was pure gold. He was the person family and friends turned to and he would do anything he could to help just about anyone. Walter was always finding new hobbies to keep him busy, he would become consumed with them at first but after sometime, most were left falling through the cracks. Some of his consistent hobbies were photography, trains, fishing, hunting, making DVD covers on his computer, avid QVC shopper, loved Western movies especially any with John Wayne, loved old black and white movies on Turner Classic Movie channel, loved the country band Alabama, and loved to go over the top with decorating the house for all holidays dressing up as Santa or the Grinch on Christmas. When he wasn't focused on his hobbies, he would find some sort of house project to get done. Walter loved Grumpy from Snow White and was a huge Disney fan, spending many memorable vacations in Disney with his family. Disney was just one of his favorite places, as a family they also went to Lake George, where they shared many laughs together. Growing up, he spent a lot of time upstate with his family, creating his love for the outdoors and animals. Walter was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, his presence will be forever missed. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, July 15th, 11:15 am at St. Martin of Tours RC Church, Bethpage. Military honors immediately following.
