Walter Harbison Obituary
He was born October 10, 1946 in Glen Dale, WV son of the late Thaddeus and Virginia Bushon Harbison.
Wally was a retired postal worker from the US Post Office, with over 35 years of service, and a member of the Post Office Union. He was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, a US Navy veteran, an avid wood worker and enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include his wife, of 17 years, Marguerite Shepard Harbison; one son: Ryan (Keri) Harbison of Milton, WV; three daughters: Amy (Scott) O'Dell of Hilliard, OH, Anne Harbison of Glen Dale, WV and Teresa (Tom) Hicks of Follansbee, WV; one sister: Jane Mallon of Roswell, GA and six grandchildren: Evan and Emily Harbison, Alexis and Jackson O'Dell and Hayden and Jennessa Hicks.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 15, 2024 from 3-7pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 1 Ridgecrest Road, Bethlehem/Wheeling. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 16, 2024 at 10:00am at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 690 Mt. Olivet Rd., Wheeling with Fr. Joseph Augustine as celebrant.
Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Marshall County Animal Shelter, 37 Animal Shelter Drive, Moundsville, WV 26041 or the Soup Kitchen of Wheeling, 1610 Eoff Street, Wheeling, WV 26003.
