Walter Patrick Horn, 41, of Lafayette, died August 15, 2023 after a year-long battle with glioblastoma.
He was born June 9, 1982, in Craig, CO. He graduated from Twin Lakes High School in Monticello in 2001, and attended Purdue University, where he majored in aeronautical engineering and was a member of Theta Xi fraternity. He was employed at Safelite AutoGlass.
On Dec. 10, 2011, he married Tiffany Cannon Horn at Tan-Tar-A resort in Osage Beach, MO, and she survives.
Walt earned the rank of Eagle Scout and worked as a Boy Scout camp counselor in his youth. He was an avid outdoorsman, and loved hunting, camping and shooting sports. A passionate music lover, he enjoyed attending concerts and listening to live music. His favorite genre was punk rock.
He was devoted to his family and friends, and delighted in spending time with his dogs, Bonnie and Clyde. Bonnie preceded him in death.
Along with his wife, Tiffany, he is survived by his father, Walter Michael Horn of Monticello; his mother, Susan Elnora Horn of Ashland, OR; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, John Thomas Horn.
Celebration of life services will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at noon, EDT at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home in Monticello.
