Walter Howard Kemp

Walter Howard Kemp, age 83, passed away peacefully at his home on February 20, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love and memories. He was born July 28, 1942, to the late Jasper and Linnea Bell (Foster) Kemp. He attended Second Baptist Church and was a member of the Malvern Moose Lodge.

Walter was truly a gentle soul with a big heart. Kids and animals absolutely loved him, and that says a lot about the kind of man he was. He enjoyed the simple things in life – fishing, camping, playing cards, watching the horse races and construction work. He didn't need much to be happy, just family, fresh air, and a good hand of cards to cheat at.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Jessie Kemp; daughter, Rita Kemp; and several brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his daughters, Sonya Heinley (Brad) and Amber Duboise; sisters, Elaine Arnold of Malvern, Sue Taylor of Benton, and Ann Graves (Roger) of Hot Springs; brother, Clint Kemp of California. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Kaleb Heinley (Anissa), Drew Selph, Alli Selph (Kyle), Brendan Duboise, Jessalynn Duboise, and Peyton Chancellor along with extended family and friends who loved him dearly.

Visitation will be held Sunday, February 22, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at Regency Funeral Home.

Graveside Service will be Monday, February 23, at Lone Hill Cemetery with Bro. Joey McDermott officiating.

Pallbearers will be Kaleb Heinley, Drew Selph, Brendan Duboise, Riley Cox, Kyle White, and Stephen Nix.

The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to the staff at Encore Nursing and Rehab as well as Elite Hospice for the exceptional care they provided to Walter.
