Walter D. Kendrick, III, 83, Thomson, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on August 1, 2024, with his loving wife at his side.
Walter was born in Griffin, Georgia on March 13, 1941, grew up in the Griffin, Georgia area and lived most of his life in McDuffie County. He worked as a programmer heading up the data programming for Thomson Company before his retirement. Walter was a classic car driver and enjoyed going to classic car shows, fishing, watching sports, watching his grandchildren playing sports wherever he had to travel to see them, loved spending time with his family and friends and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter David Kendrick, Jr. and Mary Barry Kendrick; his son, Travis Kendrick his daughter, Christa Kendrick and his brother, Danny Kendrick. His survivors include his devoted wife of 46 years, Kay Brown Kendrick; his sons, Larry Kendrick and Barry Kendrick (Angie); his daughters, Susan Schuenemann (Robert) and Angie Sewell (Dwayne); ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren, expecting number twelve this November, and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
The visitation will be held at Beggs Funeral Home, 799 Cobbham Road, Thomson, Georgia on Sunday, August 4, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel, on Monday, August 5, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Pallbearers for the service are his grandsons and great grandsons. In memory of Walter, if you have a classic car, please feel free to come celebrate his life by processing from the funeral home after the service to his interment at Westview Cemetery, Thomson, Georgia.
