Walter Lee Mason, 75 of Bucyrus passed away on Tuesday May 20, 2025, at the Kobacker House in Columbus. Walter was born on September 18, 1949, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was married July 23, 1995 to Deborah (Robertson) Mason who survives. He was preceded in death by one sister Sharon Gruener.

Walter is also survived by daughters Carrie (Grant) Nichelson of Bucyrus, Pamela Mason and Toni Mason of Glendale Arizonia, grandchildren that include Olivia Benton of Bucyrus and William Benton of Denver, Colorado. 2 Brothers Calvin Long & Woody Wright and Brother-in-law Edward Gruener.

Walter grew up in the Cincinnati area where he graduated from High School and received his degree from the University of Cincinnati. He furthered his education with college courses through the U.S. Government. Walter worked for 32 years as a Federal Meat Inspector for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, retiring 17 years ago.

Walter was an avid bowler with many championships to his credit. He competed in the Bill Rahm Invitational. He holds the highest series at Suburban Lanes with an 864 series. He was a past member of the PBA, former member of the Bucyrus Men's Bowling Association, the Bucyrus Moose Lodge, and the NRA. Walt was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday May 31, 2025, at 12 noon in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of the service. The family suggest memorials be in the form of contributions to the Crawford County Humane Society. Expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com
