Walter Rackley Ollic Jr., 65, of Liberty Twp., OH, passed away August 29, 2024
He was born in Charleston, SC in 1958 to Walter Rackley Ollic and Juanita Burton, and grew up playing sports at the Jewish community center where his dad coached. Walter attended Newberry College in South Carolina and studied political science before moving to Cincinnati, OH. He met his wife, Cindy, while working security for Kmart. They married September 8, 1984 and much to their happiness welcomed their children Tara and Beau. He soon started his long dedicated career in the car business, working for Ford, Land Rover, and retiring from Performance Kings Honda in November of 2023. Walter introduced his family to his southern upbringing by making a second home for them in Myrtle Beach, SC. He enjoyed cocktails on the beach, being the tan "sun god" he was, and watching his children grow up on the same beaches he did. Walter was a lover of animals and greatly enjoyed having multiple dogs over the years that he would love and spoil just like his own children. He loved the life he had built with his beloved wife Cindy. Walter was introduced to golf by his father-in-law and spent the rest of his life chasing the green. He had a lot of golf partners over the years, but no experience was as great as the day he was able to teach his son and bring him along. Walter was a great lover of music spanning a wide range of genres over the years. He found ways to play music everywhere and introduced his kids to his favorites.
He took his kids to their first concert, Aerosmith, in 1993 and thus created his own concert buddy in his daughter. Walter passed away peacefully on the beautiful morning of August 29, 2024 just shy of his 40th wedding anniversary to Cindy. He will forever be missed, loved, and celebrated by all who knew him for the rest of our lives.
Walter was preceded in death by William J. Vaske (Father in Law) and is survived by wife Cynthia R. Ollic (Vaske), daughter Tara E. Ollic (Grandpups Penny and Winnie), son Walter "Beau" R. Ollic III (Grandpups Tyson, Thanos, and Luna), daughter-in-law Hope Ollic (Hall), grandchildren Ethan and Hannah, brother Michael Champion, sister Elizabeth Ollic-Doran, and all of the Vaske, Santel crew.
