Walter Weyman Pattillo

Mr. Walter Weyman Pattillo, 94, of Stockbridge, GA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 18th, 2025. He was born on December 12, 1930, in Henry County, the son of the late John W. Pattillo and Drucella Miller Pattillo. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Effie Lackey Pattillo, and daughters, Barbara Pattillo Hooper (Bill) and Joyce Pattillo Strickland.
Mr. Pattillo was devoted husband to his beloved wife, Effie Lackey Pattillo, and a loving father to Linda, Barbara, and Joyce. Daddy was hardworking and dedicated. He spent over 60 years working as a carpenter, where he was known for his perfection in trimming houses and building decks. Despite long hours of work away from home, he always made time for his family.
Though Daddy may not have liked being the center of attention, he deserves to have his long years of fatherly love honored. He was a man of kindness, integrity, generosity, and left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. Daddy's only hobby was gardening, growing those azaleas and hydrangeas. He loved planting a garden every year and watching the tomatoes and okra grow. He enjoyed making changes in our home. We would go to church and come home with a complete wall taken down. It was so interesting to see Daddy at work and how he came up with such brilliant ideas of remodeling.
He is survived by his daughter, Linda Pattillo Chase (Wayne) and a son-in-law, Jerry Strickland; grandchildren, Jodi Lawrence (Michael), Wayman Henson, Tiffany Dobbs, Stephanie Johnson, and Carmen Dollar; as well as 19 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Evelyn Collier, and many nieces and nephews.
We find comfort in knowing Daddy's legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the life he shared, and the many memories we will cherish forever.
A graveside service to honor Mr. Pattillo's life will take place on Saturday, June 21, 2025, beginning 11:00 AM at the Stockbridge City Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a time of viewing from 9:30 AM until the graveside service at Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors.
