It is with love and sadness that we announce that Walter P. Pietryka, 66, of Holyoke, passed away on September 17, 2025. Walter graduated from Chicopee Comprehensive High School and worked at Autron for many years. He was predeceased by his parents Stanley and Geraldine (Wosko) Pietryka Gabrysz, and stepfather Joseph Gabrysz, his brother Casimir Pietryka and his sisters Jane Kmon, Irena and Maria Pietryka. He is survived by the love of his life, Suzanne Badger, stepdaughter Natalie and her husband Jon Pope, grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua, Abigail. His sister Linda Syniec and her husband Gary, brother-in-law Edward Kmon, nieces Patricia Moulton and husband Tyler, and Alyssa Syniec, nephew Louis Kmon and wife Melissa and great nephews Caleb, Aiden and Logan and his great nieces Hannah and Remi. Walter also leaves behind many good friends and family members, including his Aunt Steffie and her husband Richard and many cousins whom he loved very much, as well as his faithful dog and companion Nana. Walter was a kind, good-hearted person who always thought of others and cared deeply for his family. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he enjoyed every milestone in their lives. He was proud to be their Dziadziu. Walter was the kind of person that would be there with you to make you laugh, because seeing others happy was important to him. When he hugged you, you could feel his love for you. He will be deeply missed. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025 at the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home at 61 Grape St., in Chicopee from 9:30 to 10:30 am, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan St, Chicopee, MA 01020 at 11:00 am.
