Services are 2 pm Tuesday, March 10, 2026 in the Baldwyn Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home with his son, Bro. Walter Prather, Jr. and Bro. David Baswell officiating. Burial will follow in the Rutland Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Monday, March 9, 2026 in the Baldwyn Chapel of Kesler Funeral Home.
Walter is survived by his sons, Walter Prather, Jr. (Freda) of Baldwyn, Mark Prather of Baldwyn, Ronnie Prather (Patricia) of Guntown and Michael Prather of Baldwyn; his daughter, Cathey Miller (William) of Baldwyn and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Nellie Ruth Prather; his parents, William & Elizabeth Prather and his sister, Inez Foote.
