Walter Keith Sanders, 66, of Crawford, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, July 27, 2024.
Born in Athens, he was a son of Mary Nell Cowart Sanders and the late Benjamin Tillman Sanders. Keith loved his country and was proud of his service in the United States Air Force. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, the Georgia Bulldogs and he really enjoyed mowing his grass with his zero-turn lawn mower. Keith enjoyed music and played it daily except for when he was watching his favorite TV shows, Gun Smoke, NCIS or Blue Bloods. He also loved animals and adored his comfort dog BJ and his snuggle buddy, Max. Above all, he loved his family and his church family at Arnoldsville Baptist Church. Keith and his wife, Auroralee were both proud supporters of the Til Valhalla Project in support of American veterans.
Survivors in addition to his mother include his wife, Auroralee Sanders; step-children, Mikael Koty Sapp (Danya), Joseph Kirkland “Kirk” Sapp and Charlotte Renee Sapp; siblings, Glenn Sanders and Rhonda Palmer (Nathan) and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Memorial services will be Thursday, August 1, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Lord and Stephens, East with Rev. Nathan Palmer officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Arnoldsville Baptist Church, 240 Yancey Road, Arnoldsville, GA 30619.
