Walter Scott was born on January 15, 1951, in Torras, Louisiana, to the late Batiste ("Bat") Scott and Carrie ("Bay") Morris Scott.
Walter accepted Christ at an early age at Oak Grove Baptist Church, where he was baptized by Reverend Ernest Lea, Sr.. He attended school in the Pointe Coupee Parish School System.
On May 9, 1970, Walter married Louise Hartford, to this union, three children were born, Ernest, Ellis and Tina.
He worked in farming for over thirty (30) years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with family and friends. He cherished his time spent with his siblings - sharing meals and memories, playing cards, and supporting each other.
Walter departed this life on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Bayou Chateau Nursing Home in Simmesport, Louisiana. Though he will be missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his children; sons, Ernest (Bessie) and Ellis Ray (Arlene) and daughter, Tina; his grandchildren; Jonathon, Ellis (Lil Ray), Michael, Kendrick, Shaylynn, Twanna and Takitta; eight great-grandchildren; five brothers; Louis, Roosevelt, John, Paul (Mable) and Dan; one sister, Janie; Godchildren; Brandi Beco and JaMyra and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents; Bat and Carrie Scott; his wife, Louise; uncle and aunt Richard and Lulu Scott; maternal and paternal grandparents; one grandchild, Delicia Henderson.
