Walter Wade Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 24, 2025.
Walter William Wade, 81, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025. Born June 19, 1944, in Parkville, Missouri, to Albert and Mary Wade, he grew up helping with the family business, Wade's Heating & Cooling, alongside his sisters, Lenora and JoAnn. He graduated from Platte County High School in 1962 and later served in the U.S. Navy.

Walter built a lifelong career in carpentry and construction, contributing to major Kansas City projects including the original KCI Airport and the American Royal. His skill and leadership eventually led him to superintendent roles, and in the late 1980s he founded his own company, Home Service Corp., taking great pride in the homes, he built.

Outside of work, Walter loved playing pool, dancing, and having a good night out. In retirement, he enjoyed DIY projects, fishing, bird watching, and caring for his yard and garden.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Lenora Sanders; and his wife, Bennea Ann Wade. He is survived by his sister, JoAnn Hiller; his children, Shane (Susan) Wade, Eric (Kimberly) Wade, and Katherine (David) Petty; and the mother of his children, Deborah Crockett. Walter leaves behind nine grandchildren Savana Barfield, Carson Wade, Caroline Wade, Jilana Wade, Jenny Wade, Megan Wade, Krista Petty, Becca Petty, and Tara Petty, and two great-grandchildren Carter Lanning and Weston Barfield. All of whom he cherished deeply.

Walter will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered. May he rest in peace. Arrangements By: Rollins Funeral Home-Platte City, MO-Ph. 816.858.2129. www.rollinsfuneralhome.net
