He is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Dace Schoolfield Welch, and one great-grandson.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years and 11 months, Janet L. Welch of Lockesburg, AR; two sons, daughters-in-law, Michael and Nancy Welch of Lockesburg, Arkansas, Matthew and Melissa Welch of Atlanta, Georgia; one daughter and son-in-law, Rochelle and James Gast of Fort Mill, South Carolina; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
