Walter West Obituary

WARSAW — Walter Pollock West, 94, peacefully passed away at home on Jan. 3, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Warsaw, NC, on Dec. 3, 1928, to the late James Norwood West, Sr. and wife, Anna Pollock West.

He is survived by Pearl Raynor West, his wife of 70 years and three sons, Walt West, Jr. of Warsaw, Brian Raynor West (Cacky) of Wilmington and Joshua Norwood West of Warsaw. He is survived by his granddaughter, Lindsay Lake West of Savannah, GA and his grandson, Austin Brinkley (Kelsey) of Kenansville. His is also survived by his brother, Ronald Bourquin West (Lynda) of Smithfield.

He was predeceased by his brothers James Norwood West, Jr. (Lois) of Warsaw and Jerry Landrum West of Warsaw; his sisters, Helen West Whitehurst (Don) of Greenville and Ann West Houston (Billy) of Kinston.

A celebration of his life was held on Jan. 6, at Warsaw United Methodist Church at 107 W. Plank Rd, Warsaw.

Memorials may be made to the Warsaw United Methodist Church at Post Office Box 422, Warsaw, NC 28398 or the charity of one's choice.
