It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Walter Widmann, aged 90, on Thursday, January 2, 2025. Walt was born on January 21, 1934, in Camden, New Jersey, where he spent his early years and met the love of his life, Beatrice (Mecca). Together, they built a beautiful life full of love and laughter.
Walt was a proud New Jersey man who lived in Camden, Oaklyn, Medford, and most recently, Sea Isle City. He served his country honorably in the United States Army, spent 47 dedicated years working as a rail-man with Conrail and a was a member of Mozart Lodge #121 of Free and Accepted Masons since 1957.
Family was everything to Walt. He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and uncle who always made time for those he loved. He found joy in traveling, socializing with friends, exploring history, and enjoying a good cigar accompanied by a cocktail.
Walt is now reunited with his beloved wife, Beatrice. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his daughters Michele and her husband Edward Hatton, and Claudine and her husband John Zellman. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Emily, Sophia, and Abigail, and he will also be deeply missed by his numerous nieces and nephews.
We take comfort in the knowledge that Walt's life was rich with love, laughter, and family. His memory will remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation 10:00- 11:00a.m. Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Evoy Banasz Funeral Home, 129 White Horse Pike, Haddon Heights, NJ where a Masonic Service will follow at 11:00a.m. Entombment with military honors in the mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill, NJ.
