Walter was born in Houston, Texas on February 12, 1948, and passed away in West Monroe on April 22, 2024. Walter was a lifetime lover of fast cars and motorsports. Walter built and raced hot rods, drove fast Corvettes, owned Twin City Dragway, and served many years on the National Hot Rod Association's Safety Crew.  Later in life he enjoyed restoring his 1933 Willys hot rod and could be found showing it at car shows.

He also loved hunting and wildlife conservation. He was a lifetime member, sponsor, and Trustee Emeritus of Ducks Unlimited and supported many other conservation efforts and groups. Walter enjoyed his time in the blind and at the Six Blind Mice camp with friends and family.

Walter was a champion skeet shooter, who was inducted into the Louisiana Skeet Shooting Hall of Fame. A longtime member of Pine Hills Gun Club and the National Skeet Shooting Association, he loved traveling to shoots with Sandie and friends.

Walter could be heard (loud and clear) from the audience, stands, and sidelines of his children and grandchildren's activities and events.

Walter was a member of the ACTS community, the St. Matthew Men's Bible Study Group (delivering doughnuts as long as he was able) and member of St. Matthew Catholic Church. Walter also served as a 3rd degree Knight of Columbus.

Walter will be sorely missed by his family until the end of days.

Walter was preceded in death by his father, Walter Lee Williams, Jr.; mother, Kathlyn Yvonne McKenna Williams; sister, Yvonne Ford; and his brother, Eugene Williams.
