Walton Myers Caughman Jr., known to all as 'W.C', age 78 of Cumming, GA, passed away on September 2nd, 2025 after conquering a long battle against his uncompromising body.
W.C. was the only child born to Baptist minister Walton Sr. and Frances Caughman on February 26th, 1947 in Jackson, Mississippi. He attended Murrah High School before joining the U.S. Navy in 1966, where his interest in engineering began as a Petty Officer Second Class Electronics Technician. After fighting in Vietnam and earning a National Defense Service Medal, he obtained a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Mississippi State University in 1974, where he was known as quite the prankster amongst friends.
He married Pam, the love of his life, in 1976, and spent just shy of 50 years together, settled down in the home they built on Lake Lanier. They were never apart and enjoyed years of RV travel across the country, along with many other shenanigans that kept them laughing always.
W.C. spent 25 years as a leader at Kimberly-Clark Corp., but it was his variety of hobbies that fueled his passion for life – fishing, hunting, gold prospecting, model airplanes, knife-collecting, HAM radio operating, cooking & creating recipes – many of which he loved to share with his proudest accomplishment, his daughter Heather. Above all, it was his role of Pam's 'roadie' that he truly enjoyed the very most – always there as the 'wind beneath her wings'.
W.C. is survived by Pam; Heather and son-in-law Jay, along with his beloved grandchildren, Pepper, Poet, Tyler, Kane, and Rayne. He also leaves behind daughter Jennifer from his first marriage, as well as very close friends and his dearest cat companion, Twosocks, who all miss him dearly.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 17th, 2025 at 1:00pm at McDonald & Son's Funeral Home Chapel in Cumming, GA.
Celebration of Life with Military Honors will be held on Sunday, October 5th, 2025 at 2:00pm at American Legion Post#127 in Sugar Hill, GA.
