Wanda Altman

Wanda Dean Presley Altman, age 89, of Baxley passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025 at the Pavilion under the care of Comfort Care Hospice.  

Mrs. Altman was born March 21, 1935 in Appling County to the late Joseph Hoyt “Joe” Presley and the late Mattie Music Presley. She was a homemaker, a retired farmer, and a member of Zoar Methodist Church. Mrs. Altman was an avid gardener, with a special love for roses. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who especially loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Delton Altman; brothers, Jaunice (Jeanelle) Presley and Dwight Presley; and sister, Janet Orvin. 

Survivors include her children, Hoyt (Cynthia) Altman, Diane (Ronnie) Mann, Sandra (Payne) Eason, and Terry (Linda) Altman; sisters, Joanne (Milton) Hunter and Janice (Randall) Sellers; sister-in-law, Mary Sue Presley, brother-in-law, H. B. Orvin; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive. 

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Page and Rev. Justin McLellan officiating. Interment will follow in Omega Cemetery. 

Visitation will be Monday, February 17, 2025, 6-8 p.m., at Swain Funeral Home.
