Wanda Ruth (Moore) Baker, a woman of deep faith, love, and devotion to her family and church, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on April 27, 2025, in Claremore, Oklahoma, at the age of 90.
Born on August 6, 1934, to R.E. and Ruth Moore. She built a beautiful life anchored in faith, family, and service. On April 19, 1956, she married her sweetheart, Jimmy Roy Baker, and together they shared 61 years of laughter, prayer, music, family and love.
Wanda was a remarkable Christian woman, a wonderful wife, and a devoted mother and grandmother. Her life was a living testimony to the virtues of kindness, goodness and a joyful sense of humor. She worked tirelessly in the church throughout her life, lending her voice in worship and her hands in service. Cooking, singing and teaching brought her great joy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, R.E. and Ruth Moore; her brother, Wesley Moore; her sisters, Maurietta Hulet and Joyce Moyer; her husband, Jimmy Roy Baker; and her precious daughter, Melinda Ruth Baker, great granddaughter, Judah Grace Baker
She is lovingly remembered by her son, Kevin (Shannon) Baker of Big Cabin, Oklahoma; and by her grandchildren: Jonathan Campbell, Andrew (Elysha) Campbell, Amanda Campbell, Katie (Eloy) Nolivos, Seth (Kirsten) Baker, Grady (Brianna) Baker, and Olivia (Aaron) Wheeler. Her great-grandchildren - Maddison and Adrian Campbell, Enoch Mattison, Max, Ari, and Malachi Nolivos - were sources of endless pride and joy. She also leaves behind her beloved sister, Priscilla (Bill) Chapman.
Wanda's legacy is one of enduring faith, love, and a heart always ready to serve. Her memory will be forever cherished by all who knew and loved her.
A celebration of Wanda's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, May 2, 2025, at Southern Hills Church of God, located at 1029 W. I-240 Service Road in Oklahoma City. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor her life.
