Wanda Blocker Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home and Chapel on Aug. 12, 2024.
With heavy hearts and a lifetime of beautiful memories, we say our goodbyes to Wanda Blocker of Moore, Oklahoma, who went to be with the Lord on August 9, 2024, at the age of 88. She was born Wanda Marie Fisher in Sparks, Oklahoma, on November 29, 1935, to Emery Earl Fisher and Alpha Belle (Evans) Fisher. Wanda married Carlton "C.D." Blocker and together they were blessed with four children – Rickie, Melody, Randy, and Kimberly.
She is preceded in death by her husband, C.D. Blocker, her daughter, Melody Klepfer, her great-granddaughter, Lila Klepfer, seven brothers, and one sister. She leaves her children to cherish her memory, Rickie Lea, Randy Blocker, and Kim Ball and husband Larry; her sister, Reba Bailey and husband James; along with ten grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
Wanda was a longtime and faithful member of Southgate Baptist Church. In her lifetime, she accomplished so many things. In the early years she became a seamstress, not only sewing for her family, but sharing her talents with the public as well. She loved to bowl and competed with multiple leagues over the years, often playing on multiple teams at one time. She was good at it too, carrying a high average and winning multiple pins and trophies. She enjoyed working in the yard, tending to grass and flowers. One summer, she decided to see if she could grow okra. It not only grew but got to be about 8 feet tall! She was so proud. Needless to say, she had enough okra to share with everyone. Wanda also loved listening to music while whistling perfectly to the tune.
Most of all, she treasured the quality time she spent with her family. Wanda loved dancing with C.D., especially to Last Date by Floyd Cramer – it was and will forever be their song. She also enjoyed baking and loved to share her goods with family, friends, neighbors and church buddies. She particularly loved making mini muffins for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren (this is why some of her grandkids called her Muffy). She was certainly a woman of many talents.
As we honor her life, let us remember all the good times we spent with Wanda. We will miss her tremendously, but know she is definitely in better hands. May she find eternal joy in peace in her new heavenly home.

Wanda was loving and very special to Kirk and I. She could always get the job done, no matter the occasion. We will miss her and always remember her.

So sad to hear about Wanda's passing. The best memory I have of Wanda was a Christmas Party here at my house a few years ago when I didn't have all the food ready when everyone started coming, Wanda pitched in & started helping in which I was so thankful for her help, we had lots of great food, games, fellowship, laughter & last but not least gift's to end the evening.
