Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kilgore Funeral Home, LLC - Tullahoma on Jul. 11, 2025.
Wanda Lee Hutchison Brashears, 84, of Manchester, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 10th, 2025. She was born on January 2nd, 1941, on the family farm in Hickman County, Tennessee, to the late Grover C. Hutchison, Jr. and Ruth Aydelott Hutchison. Wanda was a proud graduate of Coffee County Central High School Class of 1959. A dedicated and accomplished student, she was a member of the Beta Club, served as a class officer, played on the basketball team, and was honored as a member of the Homecoming Court. After graduation, Wanda began her professional career at National Life and Casualty Company in Nashville, where she would go on to meet the love of her life, James "Jim" Brashears. The two shared more than 40 years of marriage together, building a beautiful life grounded in love, faith, and family. Wanda was an avid reader, a passionate antique collector, and gifted in all forms of needlework. Her creativity, warmth, and attention to detail were evident in every stitch. She also had a deep love for animals, especially her beloved dogs. A woman of strong faith, she was a member of First Baptist Church in Manchester. In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, James Brashears; her son, Brian Lee Brashears; and her brothers, G.C. "Buster" Hutchison III and David Alan Hutchison. She is survived by her loving sons, James Michael Brashears (Karen), David Brashears, and Scott Brashears; grandchildren, Zachary Curlee, Ryan Brashears, and Kellie Brashears; sister, Saundra Yates (Rod); and numerous nieces, great-nieces, great-nephews, and extended family members who will carry on her legacy of love and strength. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 15th, 2025 at 11:00am at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
