Wanda J. Carter passed away surrounded by her family on February 22, 2025.
Wanda was born on October 16, 1952, daughter of Mearl and Donna M. Richards. She graduated from Eastbrook High School in 1971 and married Michael G. Carter later that year on August 14, 1971. Wanda worked at Ivanhoe's for 13 years.
Wanda enjoyed cooking. Wanda loved the Lord and her church family. She also loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She had a love that was deep. Wanda was a fighter, she never let any obstacle get in her way.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Michael Carter; mother, Donna Richards; three children; Leslie (Shawn) Zolman, Lindsey (Jeff) Cook, and Lucas (Sydney Schrock) Carter; six grandchildren: Marissa Zolman, Chandlor Cook, Michael Zolman, Jonathon Cook, Eli Cook and Leah Cook.
Wanda was preceded in death by her father Mearl Richards, and brother, Fred Richards.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Hazim Rimawi and his staff for the care and compassion they have shown over the years.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Smith Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 259 N Main Street, Upland, Indiana. A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025 from 10:00-1:00pm. A service will follow with Pastor Tom Mansbarger officiating. A burial is to follow at Matthews Cemetery in Matthews, Indiana.
