Wanda M. Collison

Wanda Marie Norton Collison, 85, formerly of Bald Knob, peacefully went to sleep at Byrd Haven Nursing Center, Searcy, on Saturday, January 16, 2010, and awoke in heaven! Born to the late Dwight and Almar Sanders Norton on May 11, 1924, Wanda was a loving mother and grandmother. Survivors include one daughter: Martha (Ernie) Blount of Searcy; two sons: Bob (Patricia) Collison of Bald Knob, and Jack (Debra) Collison of Judsonia; nine grandchildren: Marcia Blount Wilson, Tim Blount, Ken Blount, Sharon Collison Potter, Michael Collison, Carrie Collison Long, David Collison, Amy Collison Elliott, Callie Collison; and 14 great-grandchildren. Wanda is also survived by two brothers: Herbert Norton of Bald Knob, and Clois Ray Norton of Yuma, AZ; six sisters: Ruth Osmon of Bald Knob; Ruby Osmon and Freda Skinner of Portland, OR; June Taylor of Canton, Ill; Josephine Mikesell of Kokomo, IN; and Ora Lee Winebarger of Yuma, AZ. Two sisters predeceased Wanda: Ethel Peppers and Goldie Goodin, both of Bald Knob. Three brothers predeceased Wanda: Golden Norton at birth, Jay Norton of Searcy, and Claude Norton of Yuma, AZ. Wanda was also predeceased by a great-granddaughter, Hunter Collison. Visitation is Tuesday, Jan. 19, 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Funeral services: Wednesday, July 20, at 10:00 a.m. at Powell Funeral Home, Bald Knob. Interment to follow at Shady Grove Cemetery, Bald Knob.
