Wanda Lee Combs, 94, of Urbancrest, OH passed away on November 17, 2025. She was born, February 5, 1931, in Harveyton, KY and was raised in Hazard, KY.
She moved to Urbancrest, with her husband, in her early twenties. This is where they raised their family. Wanda was a long time employee of DSCC (formerly DCSC).
Wanda was a member of Union Baptist Church of Urbancrest and her God-loving life was exemplified by her giving, generous, caring spirit. Wanda loved her family, working outside, gardening, traveling and bowling (where she earned a 600 series pin). She was young at heart and had an adventurous, fun-loving spirit; she literally helped her husband build their home, roller skated and had great halloween costume parties.
Wanda is preceded in death by her loving husband, Napoleon (Poe), her parents Ross and Reba Gallaher, her brothers Willie, Clarence, Dennis, and Elijah Gallaher; her sister Mildred Knowles. She is also preceded in death by her oldest great-grandson, Terrance Glenn, Jr.
Wanda leaves to cherish her memory her devoted children; Derek I. (Teresa) Combs, Sharon Combs-Wright, and Gregory (Sherry) Combs; grandchildren Kimberly (Louis) Matthews and Derek A. Combs. Wanda is also survived by her sister-in-law Yoshiko Gallaher and by her loving niece Janice (Leroy) Crozier.
She will be deeply missed by her dear family friends; Marvenia Bosley, Karen Scott, and William (Skip) Brown.
The family extends a special thank you to the staff at Woodlands of Columbus and Transitions Hospice. Your kindness and care of Wanda are truly appreciated.
Friends may call at the NEWCOMER SOUTHWEST CHAPEL 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123 on Monday, December 1, 2025 from 11:00am until time of funeral at 12:00pm. Interment to follow at Green Lawn Cemetery.
