Wanda Crabtree, 87 of Rushville, passed away on August 5, 2022 at her home in Rushville. She was born on July 5, 1935 in Blountsville, IN to the late Marvin and Mary (Burchette) Hicks. Wanda married Homer Crabtree on March 15, 1958 and he survives. She was a member of the Rushville Baptist Temple. Wanda was a wonderful homemaker for her family and then went onto working in the kitchen at Chrysler New Castle High School and Jackson Nursing Home in Rushville. She truly enjoyed being outside in her flower garden and working crossword puzzles. Wanda loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband of 64 years, Homer, she is survived by her children, Alan (Carolyn) Crabtree of KY, Rhonda Barton (Fiance, Tim Willhite) of Rushville, Brian (Christa Stiers) Crabtree of Shelbyville, Paul (Euphemia) Crabtree of Manilla and Paula (Jim) Green of Knightstown; brother-in-law?s, Logan (Marlene) Crabtree and Donald Crabtree; sister-in-law, Wanda Thalls. She will also be missed by her 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Wanda is preceded in death by her parents, great-granddaughter, Brynleigh Hope Crabtree, mother and father-in-law, Ampie and Arcola (Garrett) Crabtree; siblings, William E. Hicks, Stanley R. Hicks, Chester M. Hicks, Joseph W. Hicks, Lyndon L. Hicks, Hope Hicks Guffey and Josephine Hicks.
Services will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at 11 AM at Rushville Baptist Temple, with Pastor Jonathan Redd presiding. Friends are welcome to visit the family from 4 PM-7PM on Tuesday evening at Rushville Baptist Temple. Burial will be held in East Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Rushville Baptist Temple in memory of Wanda.

I just now seen this.Wanda was like a second mom to me.She took care of me as a child.Took me to church and gave me the greatest gift the Lord Jesus Christ.I am saddened about this but I know she is with Jesus.To dad Homer and Rhonda and Alan and Brian ,Paul and Paula.I love you so much.I pray God bless you and help you through this.I am heartbroken.
