Wanda Elaine Stroud Simpson

Funeral services for Wanda Elaine Stroud Simpson, 87, will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd. in Shreveport. A visitation will be held Thursday, August 21, 2025 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Rev. Joe Bob Alexander and Rev. Kaylan Walker.

Wanda was born on December 12, 1937 to Walter Aubrey and Ola Mae Stroud in Jasper, Texas and passed away Thursday, August 14, 2025 in Bossier City, Louisiana.

Wanda graduated from high school in Mt. Pleasant, Texas where she met Shelton Simpson. They were married on December 29, 1955. Wanda spent her years raising her children and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She and Shelton owned Simpson Pools and Spas for many years.

Wanda is preceded in death by her husband, Shelton Simpson; parents, Walter and Ola Mae Stroud; two sisters, Vickie McGraw and Charlotte Rhodes; and brother, Guy Stroud.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Sandy Jeter and husband, Kevin of Greenwood, LA, Mark Simpson and wife, Melody of Doyline, LA, Mike Simpson and wife, Tracy of Greenwood, LA; and brother, James Stroud and wife, Tamara of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Joshua Jeter of Gilbert, AZ, Hilary Geer of Shreveport, LA, Malory Selman of Greenwood, LA, Shea Simpson of Shreveport, LA, Shelby Woods of Tiff City, MO, and Seth Coleman of Tiff City, MO; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Honoring Wanda as pallbearers will be Mark Simpson, Kevin Jeter, Joshua Jeter, David Selman, Gerald Fletcher, and David Wheat. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Mike Simpson.

The family wishes to thank The Blake of Bossier City where Wanda had many friends and spent her last few years. She enjoyed being there and playing bingo.

The family requests that donations be made to The American Cancer Society, a cause near and dear to her heart due to her granddaughter undergoing treatment currently.
