BOARDMAN - Wanda J. Hill, 89, passed away peacefully in her sleep, Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at her home.
Wanda was born May 28, 1936, in Kenova, Ohio, a daughter of the late Robert Lee Elkins and Nellie M. Kennedy Elkins. She came to the Youngstown area in 1965 and made it her lifelong home.
She was a 1954 graduate of South Point High School and worked at Mahoning National Bank in Wedgewood Plaza for many years before she retired.
In her younger years, Wanda attended Austintown Baptist Church and was also a member of Bethel Assembly of God.
Wanda was a beautiful person, inside and out, and was always there whenever she was needed. Kind, generous and deeply rooted in her faith, she treasured her family and friends above all else. She had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed vacationing, especially trips to the beach. Wanda was the matriarch of her family, and everything she touched she made more beautiful. She had a special gift for decorating and created magical Christmas celebrations that became cherished memories for those she loved. A devoted grandmother and great-grandmother, Wanda will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Now, she is home.
Wanda leaves to cherish her memory her children, Kimberly M. (Charles) Seamons of Boardman, Patrick (Julie) Hill of Austintown, Tamara (Michael) Kishok of Berlin Center and Deborah (Richard) Conger of Austintown; her grandchildren, Shawna, Jacob, Rebecca, Rachel, Olivia, Shelby and Sam; her great-grandchildren, Audrina, Brooklyn, Tiana, Donovan, Travis and Aurora; and many beloved extended family members.
Her husband, Arnold E. Hill, whom she married Dec. 3, 1955, died Aug. 20, 1984. Also preceding Wanda in death were her son, Mitchell E. Hill; her granddaughter, Marie Hill; her sisters, Joanne Dudley, Doris Phillips, Helen Whaley, Maxine Clark and Donna Daubenmire; and her brothers, Denver Elkins, Robert Elkins and Harold Elkins.
Family and friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2026, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m.
Interment will follow at Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Austintown, where Wanda will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer Network 4214 Market Street, Youngstown, OH 44512.
