Wanda Lois Jacobs, a cherished resident of Uvalde Texas, departed this life on November 2, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth. Born March 8, 1938, in Wharton, Texas, she was the beloved daughter of Thelma Lois (Barker) and John Milton Joines.
Wanda’s family was her pride and joy, and she is survived by her devoted daughter, Barbara Denton, and her husband Rusty of Lillian, Alabama. She also lovingly nurtured four sons: Robert Lee Jacobs, Jr. (Sandra), David Jacobs (Cindy), Michael Jacobs, and John Jacobs, all of Uvalde. Her legacy continues with her sister, Billie Duyka (Rudy) from Newman, Georgia, and her brothers, John Joines (Caroline) from Georgetown and Sammy Wisnieski of Wharton. In addition, she was a proud grandmother to Avril Jacobs Rodriguez, Jason Jacobs, Cassie Carreon, Bianca Kinsey, Brett Jacobs, Haley Cantu, Jennifer Jacobs, and Taylor Jacobs, along with 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews who cherished her deeply.
Wanda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Lee Jacobs, Sr.; her sister, Reba Wisnieski; her parents; and her daughter-in-law, Terresa Jacobs.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation on Thursday, November 7, 2024, from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. A funeral service honoring Wanda’s life will take place on Friday, November 8, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Baptist Temple Church in Uvalde, followed by interment at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jason Jacobs, Taylor Jacobs, Brett Jacobs, Frank Rodriguez, Vale Carreon, Will Cantù, and Brian Kinsey,
Wanda Lois Jacobs will be remembered not only for the love she gave but also for the strength she embodied throughout her life. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
