Wanda Jacobs Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Laurel Oaks Funeral Home & Memorial Park on Jan. 14, 2026.
Wanda Jean Jacobs, 93, of Italy, Texas passed away on January 12, 2026.

Wanda's loved ones will remember her as someone who found joy in the simple, meaningful things-time with family, tending a garden, and caring for those she loved. A gifted cook and an avid gardener, Wanda especially enjoyed growing vegetables and canning. She was also a devoted dog lover and cherished the companionship of Smokey.

Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Jacobs; her mother, Nellie Brewer; her father, Joe C. Brackeen; her brother, Joe Brackeen Jr.; her sister, Mary Lee Chaney; her sister, Billie Love; her brother, James Harold Brackeen Sr.; her daughter, Donna Jean Burnett; her stepson Jerry Jacobs; and her stepdaughter Margaret Sue King.

She is survived by her sister, Jackie Polei and husband Lee; and her son-in-law, G.W. Burnett. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer Rowlands, Greg Burnett, Shannen Wyatt, Stacy Miller, and Jeri Weeks, as well as other nieces and nephews.

Wanda was blessed with great-grandchildren Hailey James, Ryleigh James, Grace Rowlands, Drew Burnett, and Ashley Burnett.

During her working years, Wanda was employed with Hunt Oil and later retired. She was also active in her community and served as President of the VFW Post 4376 Ladies Auxiliary.

Wanda's legacy lives on in the lives she touched and in the everyday traditions she loved-shared meals, homegrown harvests, and family time that mattered most.
