Wanda Ligman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Caring Cremations - Chicago on Jul. 14, 2025.
Wanda Young Ligman passed away Monday morning at 07:46, 6/30/2025.
Wanda was daughter to Flossie Bournes and Henderson Young. She was the devoted wife to Greg Ligman. She was sister to Miki, Dwayne, Sharon, Regina, Matthew, and Andrea. As well, she was an aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.
Wanda was devoted to her work and family. She passionately managed her staff, trying to make them excel and progress in their professions. She spent much of her free time contemplating and discussing with her loving husband, who she met working at Children's Memorial in Chicago, the importance of sharing her wealth of knowledge to benefit her workmates and ultimately benefiting her patients.
Wanda had been diagnosed with cancer in 2005 and continued to work and go to school while being treated for her disease. In the last five or six years she realized her cancer had advanced to stage four and that she would pass away from cancer. When Covid struck, she worked from home along with her husband to shelter themselves from germs and disease as best they could.
Wanda strived to enjoy life. She cooked magnificently, listened to music, and danced with her husband and friends to the music they both loved. They worked passionately on the home they had acquired with the intentions of retiring there.
Wanda passed away at home looking out onto her backyard that she loved so much.
Wanda wanted an aqua cremation with her ashes to be spread in various places that were important to her. She requested a gathering to happen at some point to celebrate her life. We will come together to celebrate Wanda who brought so much JOY into our - and so many others - lives.
