Wanda R. Meier, 86, died October 23, 2024, at Legend of Hutchinson. She was born August 9, 1938, in Hutchinson, to Floyd C. and Ruth Babe (Stoughton) Bogner, Sr.
Wanda graduated from Burrton High School in 1953. She was an accountant and owner of Meier Tax Service from 1964 to 2020. Wanda enjoyed nature, working in the yard and gardening and watching the birds and squirrels. She loved her horses growing up and was always the happiest with a dog by her side. She and her husband enjoyed riding motorcycle and took many trips together on them.
On May 30, 1953, she married Robert E. "Dynamite Bob" Meier, at the First Christian Church in Burrton. They shared over 45 years together, prior to his death on June 5, 1999.
Wanda is survived by: daughter, Melody (Larry) Freeman of Hutchinson; son, Darin Meier; grandchildren, Justin (Lindsey) Freeman and Shawn (Allison) Freeman; great-grandchildren, Dorian, Sylvia, Hailey and Delilah, all of Burrton; and brothers, Lloyd Bogner of Holland, MI and Floyd (Kathy) Bogner Jr. of Burrton.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; son, Robert R. "Rusty" Meier; and sister, Juanita Silvey.
Graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 28, 2024, in Valley Township Cemetery, E. Longview Rd., Burrton, with Reverend Lennie Maxwell officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 12 to 8 p.m. Sunday, at Elliott Mortuary. Family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Elliott Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Caring Hands Humane Society, Newton, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
