Wanda Lee Penley

Ms. Wanda Lee Penley, age 66 of Stuart, Virginia, passed away peacefully at The Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina, on Thursday, February 19, 2026. She was born in Manassas, Virginia, on September 5, 1959, to the late Orville Bert Penley and Laura Sylvia Hutchens Sloan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jeffery Harris; two sisters, Jean Woodward and Kathy Green; one brother, Robert “Woody” Sloan; one niece, Cathy “Sook” Howard; and one nephew, Mac Green. Wanda was very creative and enjoyed painting, making arts and crafts, and writing. She will be remembered as a loving mother, adoring grandmother, caring sister, aunt, and friend.

Ms. Penley is survived by two daughters, Amy Penley and Catrina Harris, both of Stuart; five grandchildren, Lakyn Penley, Acya Hagen, Kiara Fuller, RaeK won Hagen, and Logan Hagen; four great-grandchildren, Jayden Penley, Onyx Penley, Lonnie Penley, and Loyalty Patterson; four siblings, Don Penley, Betty Roughton, Geneva Surrett, and Brenda Martin; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Joy Biggs, Moochie Carter, and Moose Biggs.
