Wanda Siegrist Obituary
She was born on Feb. 8, 1928 in Fort Madison to Kent and Helen Houston Crabtree. She married Walter Lee Siegrist on Jan. 11, 1947 in Denmark. He preceded her in death on Sept. 4, 2004. She retired from the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant. She graduated from Denmark Academy and attended Grinnell College. She was a lifetime member of the Denmark Congregational United Church of Christ and enjoyed cooking, gardening, quilting, was a great homemaker and one hell of a card player.
Wanda is survived by a daughter, Patricia (Daryl) Ealy of Fort Madison; two sons: Neil (Dale) Siegrist of Longmont, Colo. and Mark (Laurie) Siegrist of Longmont, Colo.; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents, a daughter, Dana Pechin; and a brother, Clair Crabtree.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A celebration of life will be held at a later date at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory. A private family burial will be held following the service at Fairview Cemetery in rural Fort Madison. A memorial has been established in Wanda's memory and memorials may be left during the celebration of life. Wanda's family would like to express their thanks to Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice and The Kensington for their great care.
