Wanda Tatro Obituary
Published by Legacy on Nov. 24, 2025.
Wanda Tatro, our loving wife, mother, grammy, sister and friend returned to our Heavenly Father on Tuesday November 18, 2025 after a quick and difficult battle with cancer. She fought so hard through it all.
Wanda was born in Germany on May 30, 1960. She loved to tell people where she was born. Her family moved to Vermont when she was young, and she had a happy childhood. She would tell many stories of times with her brothers, and friends and of course all the pets and animals they had.
Wanda married John Ryan of Milton, VT on October 10, 1981 and together they had two daughters. They later divorced. She met and later married Blackie (Loren) Tatro of St. Albans VT on August 22, 2009. Together they enjoyed lots of fun times with family, friends and many pets. They loved going to visit their grandkitties in Oregon and their grandbabies in Utah when they could.
Wanda always cared for others deeply, and would do all she could for anyone. Every year at Christmas she would bake, and bake, and bake, and then deliver goodie plates to all the neighbors and friends. She would always find someone in need and bring them one of her famous lasagnas any chance she could!
Wanda was an extremely talented seamstress, and would sew all the costumes for her daughters' dance company. She loved to quilt as well! Many mornings we would wake up and find her fast asleep at her beloved sewing machine after an all-nighter.
She was known for her fun loving personality, her Snorty laugh, and her larger than life love and acceptance of everyone. And - her cakes. Everyone loved her cakes.
Wanda was preceded in death by her mom and dad, Wylene W Jackson and Bobby Joe Jackson. She is survived by her loving, and devoted husband Blackie (Loren) Tatro of St. Albans, brothers Larry (Karen) Jackson of Williston, Raymond (Anna) Jackson of Long Island NY. Daughters Meghan Ryan (Joe Lombrano) of Oregon, Rachel (Seth) Marsing of Utah, Son Ben Tatro of St. Albans, grandbabies Cash, Lincoln, Quincy, Briggs, Finley Marsing, grandkitties, wonderful Nieces and Nephews, and many in-laws, friends, and others who all meant so much to her. She was blessed by being surrounded by so many who loved her and lifted her spirits when they were down.
Per her request there will not be any funeral services right now, but there will be a celebration of life (Party!!) at a later date. At that time we will invite everyone to come share stories and memories of her there. Of course there will also be food!
In lieu of sending flowers for the family, we ask you to plant some daisies for Mom, eat some fried Patty Pans, and if you're able to donate to your local Humane Society she would love that.
She would tell us all to smile, and that she is fine. She loves us, and we will all be together again.
