Wanda Tyo Obituary
Wanda was born to the late Sidney and Rita (Halladay) Russell in Ogdensburg, N.Y. on October 1, 1955. She attended local schools, graduating in 197 4 from Madrid-Waddington High School and Seaway Area Tech as a Licensed Practical Nurse, which she maintained until her death. She specialized in operating as a Family Care Provider for 49 years, at her family home.
She met and married her loving husband, David A. Tyo Sr. at St. John the Baptist Church in Madrid.
Wanda is survived by her two children: Laura Tyo and companion Jim Collins of Norwood, NY: David A Tyo Jr. and wife Jodie of Madrid, NY: several grandchildren: Bethany and Samuel Wales of Madrid. Sidney Belmore of Norwood. Jaron Belmore of Canton, K.J. Belmore of Norwood. Raychel Dulin of Knapps Station. Alexa Whitney and Jesse Lemieux of Troy, N.Y. Jessie Dulin of Massena. Great-grandchildren David, Greyson and Jaycee Wales. Zayden and Theo Dulin and Amity Lemieux. She is also survived by sibling Ellen Russell-Gage of Chester, Montana. Along with nephews Michael and Russell
Gage. Several Brothers and sisters in Law, nieces, nephews and cousins, uncles and aunts.
In her free time, Wanda enjoyed reading, attending sporting events for her grandchildren and spending time with her pets. She was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church and a Eucharistic Minister for several years. She was a member of the Madrid Rescue Squad from 1991 until 1994.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Madrid Rescue Squad at P.O. Box 129, Madrid, NY 13660 and Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence County; 6805 US Hwy 11, Potsdam, NY 13676.
