Wanda Walker, 63, of Palestine, IL, passed away on March 2, 2026, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, IN.
Wanda was born on March 15, 1962, in O'Fallon, IL, to Bill Peach and Rosalee (Raede) Demarios.
Wanda grew up in O'Fallon and spent time living in different places throughout her life before eventually making her home in the Palestine area. Much of her life was devoted to being a stay-at-home mom.
She had a deep appreciation for nature and the outdoors. While living in Alabama for 20 years, she enjoyed gardening, walking trails, camping, and fishing whenever she could. She was a huge fan of Jimmie Johnson and NASCAR. She even fulfilled her dream of attending the Talladega 500. Always on the road, Wanda loved road trips to see family, especially her trips to Minnesota and Illinois to see her brothers and sisters. She enjoyed quiet days on the beach. She would often dream about a day at the beach and getting a tan. Her love for water pushed her to find tranquility in rivers, lakes, and streams.
Wanda will be remembered as a free spirit, someone who found happiness in life's simple pleasures and who loved her family deeply.
She is survived by her husband, Tony Walker; her children, Donny Ikemire, Larry (Natalie) Ikemire, and Anthony Ikemire; her grandchildren, Hunter Ikemire, Brett Ikemire, Haylei Ikemire, and Sterling Ikemire; her sisters, Karen Curtiss, Carol Miller, and Jamie Remlijnger; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill Peach and Rosalee (Raede) Demarios, and by her brothers, Kevin Peach and Wayne Peach.
In keeping with Wanda's wishes, she is to be cremated. Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine is assisting with arrangements.
