Wanda Ruth Whitaker

Wanda R. Whitaker, age 90, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Wednesday, March 4th. Wanda was born on August 3rd, 1935, and had a very blessed life.

She was of a very strong Christian faith having served the lord all of her life. With her sisters, Teresa and Melody, they would fill the house of the lord with their singing at every chance. She lived the life of love and was also loved by many. She loved her flowers and especially her roses. She would care for them, and her flowers, as if they were her children. Wanda was a person that cared for everyone and would help those in need without asking. Her caring for others was her love.

She was preceded in death by a son, Edward M., sisters Melody Collins and Teresa Walters, brothers, Joseph Garrison, Charles Garrison, and Gayle Garrison. She is survived by a daughter Sharon, brothers Jerry Garrison of Pikeville, Tennessee, and Doug Garrison of Paris, along with several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

An expression of gratitude and thankfulness to the staff of Bourbon Heights for the care given to her. She developed many friends during her care.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Monday March 9, 2026, by David Thacker at the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home Chapel, 1120 Main St., Paris, KY. Burial to follow in the Battlegrove Cemetery, Cynthiana, KY.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM Monday March 9, 2026, until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Shawn Garrison, Evan Garrison, Ryan Garrison, Charles Garrison, Jr., Randall Huffman Garrison and Jay Mers.
