Wanda Jean (Franklin) Wilson was welcomed into her eternal home on Saturday, August 17, 2024. Wanda was one of five daughters born to Ralph and Ruby Franklin. Her sisters Jackie Davis, Shirley Richards and Patty Stone predeceased Wanda and her sister, Barbara Pais, is a resident of Griffin, GA. Wanda is survived by Ken Wilson, her husband of 64 years, and her three children and their spouses, Tim Wilson and his wife Lori, Candy Schley and her husband Steve and Pam Prigel and her husband Bobby. Wanda was surrounded by eight grandchildren, Matt Wilson and his wife, Rachel, Heather Wilson Deterding, and her husband Steve, April Wilson Meyers, and her husband Derek, Mandy Prigel Castillo, and her husband Kelvin, Bo Prigel, and his wife Deedra, Matt Prigel, Kenny Schley and Matt Schley and 10 great-grandchildren, Grace Deterding, Leah Deterding, Avery Deterding, Jane Deterding, Evie Deterding, Nolan Castillo, Luca Castillo, Lewis Meyers, Josie Meyers and Sophie Wilson, all of whom she dearly loved.
Wanda was born in Iroquois, West Virginia on April 11, 1938 and graduated from Pineville High School in 1956. She and Ken were married on December 20, 1959 in Washington, DC. Ken and Wanda raised their family in Baltimore County, Maryland and retired to Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community in 2021. Wanda and Ken were long time members of Aisquith Presbyterian Church in Parkville, MD, where Wanda served her Lord faithfully, caring for the young and old alike.
Wanda was a faithful follower of her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, and looked forward to the day He would call her home. Wanda spent her last day on earth surrounded by family and dear friends. When His call came, she was ready, and was ushered into that eternal home Jesus had prepared for her. She is now walking the streets of gold with dear family and friends who have gone before her, living the life she was created to live, for all eternity. Wanda's legacy of faith lives on in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed, but we will see her again!
"Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also." John 14:1-3
Wanda will be buried in Moreland Memorial Park Cementery with a small, immediate family, service. A Celebration of Wanda's Life will be planned at a later date.
